Current happenings

We are decorating the school room, so no real lessons for a while.
Heres a felt walking doll Babs made for her penpal. She made her all herself, I just helped with the hair. Shes getting very good at sewing and is making a felt pig for herself with the kit from Christmas.
In Waldorf tradition, most dolls dont have much of a face indicated, if any. This allows the childs imagination to run free. Its odd at first, but after a while it makes much more sense :)
Shes made with felt and natural sheep locks for hair.

Beeswax models

Heres a few things we made last year for school after the Thornton Burgess stories about animals and a few Grimms stories. Beeswax is a lovely medium to work with, much nicer than plastacine. Its got a really nice texture and smells lovely. A made the dragon and B the bunnies.

Our math gnomes

These are the math gnomes we made last year. The kids made one each too. With stories they help explain math processes to children in an easier way to grasp. The 4 gnomes bring jewels to the king each one represents + - x and / We also made little bags that hold 10 jewels each and a large tables square sheet.
